‘Art Houses’ now in stock

Hey Bloggers! The delivery of my newest rubber stamps ‘Art Houses‘ and ‘Rulers‘ are now available on the shop. I would just like to thank you all for all the lovely comments about the new stamps, I am so thrilled that you like them! I can also confirm a TV Show date for 23rd March at 9am and 4pm …and yes I will be demonstrating these new stamps Yippee!

Today I wanted to share a little canvas I made earlier in the week, it is 7×5 size…I love creating these little works of art to hang in my studio. I have to admit the colour choice was a bit daring but I quite liked the end result.

I started off by painting the entire canvas with ‘New Grass’ Acrylic Paint (Not that much shows now) and then I edged the canvas with some Sage Polka Dot Washi Tape, I love this colour! I then took some old book paper and trimmed down to the size of my canvas. I distressed the book paper with Forest Moss Distress Ink, I then splattered ink with Crushed Olive Distress Stain and heat dried. I then used my Chicken Wire A6 Stamp and randomly stamped over the book paper in Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.

I then took some scrap mount board and painted it with ‘Ocean’ Acrylic Paint (another favourite of mine) and then I used the Chicken Wire stamp again but this time using White Acrylic Paint to stamp with randomly on the mount board. I printed off a butterfly image which I cut in half to stick behind my Art House. The Art House was coloured in with Promarkers in co-ordinating colours.

I finished the canvas with various Tim Holtz metal embellishments that I had in my stash and also an old metal spoon which I have been wanting to use for quite awhile but nothing seemed appropriate.
